Day 37 - run eats up my day
Today was a 5 miler, no stats as my watched died during the run. I forgot to plug it in the night before. For a 5 miler it was a pretty decent run. Came in around the 50min mark, no big upsets, feel pretty good the whole run. The only thing I think I should try and improve on is the overall time it takes for me to do my training, ie. get up, dressed, stretched, run, stretch, shower, etc. takes a good solid 2hours. It's eating up most of my morning. Gotta learn how to more efficient I think.

Hi Laura, well, lets talk about the time thing for your running. Example: for my short run of 6 miles, I get up at 6:30 a.m., of course! Have my two glasses of water so it will be settled, stretch and do my 100 situps until 6:45. Put on my runners. Out the door @ 6:;50 a.m. Back in the house @ 7:00 a.m. STretch until 7:15 a.m. with 100 more situps ( wow! do those situps ever take the stomach off). Off to the shower and dressed by 7:30 a.m. Breakfast and out the door to the office by 8:00 a.m. So there you go. Minimum I can do it in is 1hr. 15 min. Now I am not a girl and so with your hair and makeup I'm guessing you would need another 30 minutes. So the best you could expect to shave off your time is 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteAnyway Honey, I do not like to be the guy to break this to you but, who better? Are you ready? Answer to your dilemma is, and this is really the only one which worked for me so I didn't feel guilty about cutting into my work time, GET UP ONE HALF HOUR EARLIER. Sorry, Laura, but I have tried them all and this is the only one which really works. So to give you heads up, the first few days it is a pain, but like everything, it is the only ends to a means! Good luck in your deliberations. This is eventually, what you will have to do anyway to get those long runs in. The good news is you will feel so good about not feeling guilty that it is really worth it ! Cheers, Dad
